On Tuesday, I had to go and take the most dreaded lab test while being pregnant.. This is the glucose drink I had to drink to test for gestational diabetes. It was ABSOLUTELY disgusting! The only flavor they had was Lemon Lime and I had to drink it in 5 minutes and sit for an hour until they could finally take 2 vials of blood.. so boring! The drink was so thick and it took everything I had not to GAG! It didn't help that I was starving either. Anyway, I am just glad it is finally over. Haven't gotten a call with results, which means I am good.
I also had my 24 week check-up, since it was canceled last week. Everything is great and they are estimating Brody Jett at 2 1/2 pounds. If you look below at the update from babycenter.com you will notice what the "average" is at this point in pregnancy.. Just over a pound.
Update from BabyCenter.com: Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long, he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
